The French expression être serrés comme des sardines (literally “to be packed like sardines”) means being very close together, just like sardines in a can. 🐟
It’s often used when there’s not enough space or when a place is too crowded!

💬 Example:
You’re giving three friends a ride in the back of your small car.
👉 You ask them: “Aren’t you packed like sardines back there?”
